Armstead Residence

Neighborhood:  Louisville  |  Project type:  New-Build  |  Project size:  3,290 sf.  |  Built:  2023-2024

After the Marshall Fire swept through Louisville in 2021, destroying thousands of homes, including the Armstead's prior residence, it was our greatest pleasure to have had the opportunity to design and build a home even better suited to the couple's needs. This stunning home stands out from the others in the neighborhood with the beautiful sloped roofline and grand dramatic entrance. The exterior features natural stone, paired with dark-stained timber siding and smooth stucco. Though tucked inside the neighborhood, the expansive windows show off views of the surrounding parks and mountains. The large outdoor deck off the kitchen and living space creates the ideal flow for entertaining guests. An open floor plan provides ample seating areas and walkways through the home’s main level.

Inside, a warm palette of mixed wood finishes, white quartz and stone accents pulls the outdoors in. Every step through this home is carefully designed for form and function. First, the entry through a large custom pivot door feels grand and one-of-a-kind. Natural hardwood floors throughout give this home a rich and open feel. A mix of metal finishes between the lighting and plumbing fixtures keeps the space from feeling too heavy. The focus of the home’s finishes is to feel like a gallery - the perfect backdrop to the landscape outside and bold splashes of rich color throughout the home’s interior.
